A Season-Best Effort from Joe Steiner Leads Eaglecrest over Smoky Hill
On Saturday, Eaglecrest got the W thanks in part to Joe Steiner playing the best football he has all season. Steiner threw for 296 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns.
Steiner must have Smoky Hill's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Steiner saw the Buffaloes), he threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 52 yards on only five carries.

Grandview was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Caleb Llamas did his best to prevent it. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. Llamas and Grandview will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on October 17th.

Brady Vodicka and Co. Win Fifth in a Row
Brady Vodicka was instrumental in extending Cherry Creek's winning streak to five on Saturday. Vodicka turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.3% of his passes.
Cherry Creek's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Vodicka and Cherry Creek will take on Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
