The Olentangy Berlin Bears will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Marysville Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. Olentangy Berlin will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
Olentangy Berlin stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thomas Worthington 38-7 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Olentangy Berlin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Ziegler led the charge by rushing for 99 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Aguilar, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Marysville came up short against Olentangy on Friday and fell 39-29. While losing is never fun, Marysville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Olentangy is ranked 20th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from JJ Henry, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Olentangy Berlin's win lifted them to 9-1 while Marysville's defeat dropped them down to 4-6.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Olentangy Berlin has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 165.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Marysville struggles in that department as they've been even better at 201.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
