Aniya Zena and Kaylnn Vega certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Zena scored 6 points, while Vega scored 3 points. Zena continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Julie Otero was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Emileigh Caldwell was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 16 rebounds and 4 steals.
Woodsboro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for George West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Woodsboro will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Annapolis Christian Academy at 9:30 a.m. on December 2nd. Annapolis Christian Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 2. As for George West, they will square off against Robstown at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Robstown is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
