Hilton Head Island suffered a tough 57-36 defeat at the hands of Bluffton on Tuesday. Hilton Head Island lost against Bluffton in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-26 score last time.
Hilton Head Island's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amaya Wroten, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Deja Godsun was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Tacoya Heyward went supernova for Bluffton, scoring 25 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Heyward has scored at least 25% of Bluffton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amirah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Hilton Head Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Bluffton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Island will take on Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bluffton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hampton County at 6:00 p.m.
