Baseball Recap: Kenwood Starts Season with Win Against Overlea

Kenwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They never let the Overlea Falcons get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Bluebirds not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Lucas Cintron made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cintron was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Pugh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Patrick Boblitz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Overlea dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kenwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Catonsville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Overlea, they will face off against New Town at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
