 ESIAH SANTIAGO made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run. He is becoming a predictor of East Bakersfield's success: when he posts  at  least two  stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

 East Bakersfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for North,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-16.
