South Harrison will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against West Platte at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
South Harrison had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They took a 22-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Buchanan.
Meanwhile, West Platte took care of business in their home opener. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Lone Jack/Kingsville 46-0. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-0.
West Platte's win lifted them to 1-0 while South Harrison's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if West Platte can add another positive mark to their record or if South Harrison can shake off the loss and take the spring out of West Platte's step.
