The Paradise Honors Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Bradshaw Mountain Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paradise Honors has 12 straight victories, Bradshaw Mountain has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Paradise Honors got the win against Goldwater by a conclusive 15-5. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by ten runs or more this season.
Charlotte Glenn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Paradise Honors let Ashlyn Elliott and Gabrielle Marquez run wild. Elliott went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Marquez went 1-for-2 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave Marquez a new career-high. Parker Holt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Paradise Honors hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bradshaw Mountain came up short against Coconino on Thursday, falling 17-1.
Bradshaw Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayda Fringer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Paradise Honors' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Paradise Honors has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bradshaw Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Paradise Honors came out on top in a nail-biter against Bradshaw Mountain in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
