Auburn didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 14-20 to Fort Chiswell last Friday. Auburn's defeat came about despite a quality game from sophomore Payson Kelley, who rushed for 34 yards and 1 touchdown. Kelley has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 6 games.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Grayson County and Bland-Rocky Gap. Grayson County blew past Bland-Rocky Gap 28-0. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Grayson County had established a 21-0 advantage.
Grayson County's victory lifted them to 5-1 while Auburn's loss dropped them down to 3-3. We'll see if Grayson County's success rolls on or if Auburn are able to steal their positive momentum.
