The Kellis Cougars had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 14 on Tuesday. They secured a 56-51 W over Sunrise Mountain. That's another feather in the cap for Kellis, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kellis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shanielle Mallory, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Mallory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Luz Marian Santos Mas was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Kellis' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3. As for Sunrise Mountain, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-5.
