The Del Sol Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Eldorado Firehawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Del Sol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Del Sol turned things around against Desert Pines last Saturday. They blew past the Jaguars 18-6. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Erik Gonzalez and Joseph Luna were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gonzalez struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Luna pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Del Sol is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise. At the plate, Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Luna got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Luna has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Issac Vollink was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Del Sol: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Edwin Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Del Sol was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Pines only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eldorado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bonanza 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Firehawks have posted since March 3rd.
Del Sol's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 8-11. As for Eldorado, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-11 record.
Del Sol suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Eldorado in their previous matchup on April 5th. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
