Softball Recap: Park City Takes a Loss

Park City lost against Kearns back in April of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Park City fell just short of Kearns by a score of 12-10. Even though they lost, the Miners' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Olivia Smith stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Radziukinas, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Park City's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Kearns, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Park City will head out to square off against Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Park City is facing Jordan at the right time seeing as Jordan is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Kearns, they are taking a road trip to challenge Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
