The Orofino Maniacs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 87-44 loss at the hands of Lapwai. Orofino lost against Lapwai in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 77-46 score last time.
Kase Wynott was on fire for Lapwai: he dropped a triple-double on 48 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Ahlius Yearout, who scored 13 points.
Orofino's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Lapwai, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Orofino will head out on the road to face off against McCall-Donnelly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lapwai, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Prairie at 7:30 p.m.
