The Cedar Reds will take on the Canyon View Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Cedar turned things around against Snow Canyon on Tuesday. They skirted past the Warriors 3-2.

Brent Martin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cedar is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Cedar's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Ludlow, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Cedar hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snow Canyon struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Canyon View had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Zach Maine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trenton Ludlow, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jarron Bradshaw, who went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Canyon View's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cedar, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Cedar came out on top in a nail-biter against Canyon View in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Reds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
