visited
Greely High School to honor the Rangers on the 11th Annual
MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the National Guard, which is in
its fifth year recognizing girls soccer. The Rangers are only one of 10
girls soccer programs selected out of nearly 9000 teams.
Coming off back-to-back losses in the 2013 and 2014 state semifinals, Greely entered the 2015 season determined to keep history from repeating itself. The Rangers succeeded and not only advanced to the state title game, but also turned in a dominating effort by defeating Hermon 6-0 to claim the Class B girls soccer state championship.
The victory marked the Rangers' fourth girls soccer state title, and first since 2002. Greely imposed its will throughout the playoffs, outscoring its opponents 20-2.

"I am so proud of the girls for reaching their goal and how they operated as a unit" said head coach Josh Muscadin after learning his team was named to the MaxPreps Tour of Champions.
Coach Muscadin credited the team’s focus and cohesiveness as reasons for its success this year. At the end of the season, the Rangers were ranked No. 35 in the country, and No. 1 in the state.
On the day of the ceremony, Staff Sergeant Mark Connor and Staff Sergeant James Sanford of the Maine Army National Guard were stationed in the cafeteria to provide information to the students. Their display also featured the Army National Guard national ranking trophy that would be presented to the Rangers later that afternoon during the pep rally.
After receiving their TOC shirts, Coach Muscadin and the team made their way to the pep rally, where the band was playing as the stands filled with students, faculty, and parents. At the start of the rally, the crowd celebrated and showed its wholehearted support as the Rangers were recognized for their national ranking and state title.
Next, SSG Sanford congratulated the girls on their accomplishment and spoke about the importance of recognizing excellence within the community. He then presented the four captains with the Army National Guard Minuteman trophy. Coach Muscadin took the floor to commend the team and concluded the ceremony by thanking MaxPreps and the Army National Guard.
Congratulations to Coach Muscadin and the Greely Rangers on a great season and national ranking!
