The Belton-Honea Path Bears's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Palmetto Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Belton-Honea Path suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Powdersville 72-29. Belton-Honea Path has not had much luck with Powdersville recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Palmetto's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 85-50 loss at the hands of Powdersville. While losing is never fun, Palmetto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Powdersville is ranked 20th).
Belton-Honea Path's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Palmetto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Belton-Honea Path was able to grind out a solid win over Palmetto when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 61-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belton-Honea Path since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
