It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cary-Grove Trojans had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-7 victory over Geneva. Considering Cary-Grove has won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Cary-Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Prio out in front who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown. Prio was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Logan Abrams was another key contributor, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Cary-Grove, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.2 points per game. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Cary-Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Geneva also has no future games currently scheduled.
