After a string of seven wins, the Choctaw County Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Louisville. Choctaw County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Louisville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Choctaw County still got an impressive performance from Caleb Cunningham, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Cunningham hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Garrick Alston was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Choctaw County's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Louisville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Choctaw County will be home for the holidays to greet Aberdeen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aberdeen comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Louisville will be home for the holidays to greet McAdams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (McAdams is ranked 90th, while Louisville is ranked 77th).
