4A Region III District 22 recap Oct. 16, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tomball Memorial, who took down 750th ranked Spring Woods, 36-33.
Tomball was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in 4A Region III District 22. The Cougars vanquished Fort Bend Willowridge 52-47 earlier in the week.
Tomball's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Drew Reynolds threw for 234 and four touchdowns and Dmitri Scott had 78 yards receiving. On the ground Xavier Powell chipped in 138 yards.
Tomball's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Reynolds has thrown for 709 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Scott has 10 catches for 145 yards. Powell leads the league in rushing with 782 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ridge Point takes on the Eagles. As it stands, Ridge Point is in third, while Fort Bend Willowridge is in fourth.
Ridge Point moved up to 564 from 862 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 22. Ridge Point was able to make the jump by topping Northbrook 37-0.
