Springfield Renaissance found their leader in sophomore Sy'Nye Baker, who posted 20 points along with five assists and four steals. Baker's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Zi'Yan Wallace was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Franklin County Tech on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Pioneer Valley Regional out of the water with a 55-26 final score. That looming 55-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.
Springfield Renaissance better keep an eye on Hannah Gilbert. She was instrumental in Franklin County Tech's win, going 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Gilbert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Haleigh Benoit, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Franklin County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 25 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Springfield Renaissance pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Franklin County Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
