The Donna Redskins will be taking part in a tournament against the Palmview Lobos at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. Donna has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Donna was handed a 17-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Economedes, sneaking past 12-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Redskins considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Ethan Sanchez was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Domingo Sierra was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Donna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .514 that Economedes posted.
Meanwhile, Palmview entered their tilt with McAllen on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The game was the first time the Lobos have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 26, 2016.
Javier Garza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Garza was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Palmview got a big performance out of Joseph Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Dyven Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Donna's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Palmview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Donna has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Palmview struggles in that department as they've averaged .514. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Donna came up short against Palmview in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, falling 5-0. Will the Redskins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
