The Anthony Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-41 loss at the hands of Wink. Anthony has not had much luck with Wink recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Anthony still got an impressive performance from Julie Cuellar, who scored 33 points. That was a full 80.5% of Anthony's points, marking the 24th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Aizlyn Dewberry was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 26 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals for Wink. Dewberry has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Crystal Quiroz, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Anthony has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Wink, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.
Anthony will be playing in front of their home fans against McCamey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McCamey is coming into the match with eight straight losses on the road, so Anthony is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Wink, they will take on Fort Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wink focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
