Meanwhile, Albion came up short against Akron on Monday and fell 12-8. The Purple Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Gavin Boyce was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Gibson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Albion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Dunkirk, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Everything went Dunkirk's way against Albion in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Dunkirk made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Purple Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
