While the Eastern Tech Mavericks couldn't quite beat the Perry Hall Gators on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 21-point defeat they were dealt last Wednesday. Eastern Tech fell just short of Perry Hall by a score of 53-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastern Tech in their matchups with Perry Hall: they've now lost nine in a row.
Eastern Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian James Jr, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James Jr has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Prabhnoor Singh, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Eastern Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Perry Hall, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Eastern Tech will head out on the road to square off against Western Tech & Environmental Science at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Western Tech & Environmental Science is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Perry Hall will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Patapsco on January 31st. Patapsco is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
