The Wallkill Panthers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Beacon Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on February 6th. Wallkill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Wallkill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Roosevelt 68-46. Wallkill has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Zoe Mesuch, who went 6 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Alex Dembinsky was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Beacon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They strolled past East Harlem with points to spare, taking the game 45-31.
Wallkill is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Beacon, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything went Wallkill's way against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the Panthers made off with a 58-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wallkill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
