The Franklin Panthers extended their postseason success on Thursday against the King/Drew Golden Eagles. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 21-14. The victory was familiar territory for Franklin who now have seven in a row.
Benjamin Villareal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 244 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Villareal was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Franklin's defense and their four sacks. Sebastian Pascuzzo was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for King/Drew, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Franklin will take on Crenshaw at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Crenshaw's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches. King/Drew does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
