The Freer Buckaroos took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mathis 63-13 at home. With Freer ahead 44-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Samantha Barker had a dynamite game for Freer, scoring 25 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Gabbi Salinas was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Freer's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mathis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Freer will face off against IDEA Edinburg College Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. IDEA Edinburg College Prep will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Mathis' road trip will continue as they head out to face George West at 10:30 a.m. on November 30th.
