River Valley had won four straight games and Max Persichetti did his part to make it five on Friday. The River Valley Panthers took down the Purchase Line Red Dragons 66-52 thanks in part to Persichetti, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with eight assists and five boards. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played.

Purchase Line's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakob Mountain, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Mountain has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Perruso, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

River Valley pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Purchase Line, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the River Valley Panthers face off against the Homer-Center Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Purchase Line and Harmony Area will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
