If Burke was riding high  fresh off their  82-42 takedown of Bryan last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Burke Bulldogs were beaten by the Westview Wolverines 84-49 on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
 Despite the loss, Burke still got an impressive performance from   Marcus Buchanan, who  posted 14 points in addition to five  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ryan Rummel, who  had five points.
 Westview's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   John Sims IV, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 12  points and nine  assists. Sims IV is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Tayvin Zephier-Murphy, who  went 7 of 15  on his way to 23 points and six  boards.
Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Westview, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
 Burke and Westview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Burke (ranked 114th) will meet Omaha Northwest (ranked 233rd)  at 5:15  p.m.  on December 27th. Burke is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2  points per game  this season. Meanwhile,  Westview (ranked 14th) will meet Elkhorn South (ranked 169th)  at 12:00  p.m.  on December 28th.
