Baseball Recap: High Point Academy Takes a Loss

The High Point Academy Grizzlies lost 17-3 to the Landrum Cardinals on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

High Point Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylan Petras, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Petras is becoming a predictor of the Grizzlies' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-8-1 when he doesn't).

High Point Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Landrum, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Landrum will welcome Polk County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. High Point Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Cardinals' contest: after the Cardinals face off against the Wolverines, they'll take on High Point Academy again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
