Despite the defeat, Cheney RVT had strong showings from Trinity Hazel, who scored 15 points, and Myaliz Lopez, who scored eight points along with seven blocks. Hazel scored a full 62.5% of Cheney RVT's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Academy of Aerospace and Engineering's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cheney RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
