Baseball Recap: Taylor County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Green County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taylor County). They were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over the Green County Dragons on Wednesday. Considering the Cardinals have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Hayes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Reace Vaughn, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Taylor County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Taylor County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Green County, they moved to 19-12 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Taylor County nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
