The Quaboag Regional Cougars will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Oxford Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Quaboag Regional is ranked 169th, while Oxford is ranked 173rd).
Last Friday, Quaboag Regional came up short against Southbridge and fell 61-50.
Meanwhile, Oxford also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Auburn by a score of 55-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oxford has scored all season.
Brady Marqoupis put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Connor Fantasia, who scored nine points.
Quaboag Regional now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Oxford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Quaboag Regional beat Oxford 75-67 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quaboag Regional since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
