Shelley hasn't had much luck against Bonneville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Russets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bees at 7:00 p.m.
Shelley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Idaho Falls, who was ranked 13th at the time (Shelley was ranked sixth). The Russets fell 3-1 to the Tigers on Tuesday.
While Shelley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20.
Meanwhile, Bonneville had to endure a ten-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Skyline 3-0 on Tuesday. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Bees this season.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25, 25-17.
Shelley better keep an eye on Madelyn McOmber. She was instrumental in Bonneville's win, getting nine digs and two assists. That's the most digs McOmber has posted since back in November of 2024. Allie Hall also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Bonneville now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Shelley, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 21-6.
Everything went Shelley's way against Bonneville in their previous meeting back in September, as Shelley made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Russets repeat their success, or do the Bees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
