It was a good run, but the South Wake Sabres unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Wake Christian Academy 77-71. South Wake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wake Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Despite the loss, South Wake still got an impressive performance from Jacob Webb, who scored 22 points along with five steals. Webb continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Wright was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wake Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Berkley Coon, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 5 assists. Coon is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
South Wake's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Wake Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
South Wake will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatham HomeSchool at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Chatham HomeSchool is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge GRACE Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully GRACE Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
