The King City Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a tough 69-47 loss at the hands of Soledad. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for King City in their matchups with Soledad: they've now lost five in a row.
Soledad got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hugo Barroso out in front who scored 16 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Anikan Tavarez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
King City bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Soledad, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-10.
King City will head out on the road to square off against Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Soledad, they will be playing at home against Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monte Vista Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Soledad likes a good challenge.
