Basketball Recap: Greenville Classical Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Temple Christian Academy

Greenville Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the Temple Christian Academy Warriors. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Temple Christian Academy was led to victory by Carter Hall and Ethan Moses. Hall dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds, while Moses posted 18 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Moses' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Holbrook, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

Greenville Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Temple Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenville Classical Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on International Community at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Temple Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Anderson Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Temple Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
