Meanwhile, Kossuth posted their closest win since September 9th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Booneville.
Kossuth wouldn't go down easily and took Booneville into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 22-25, 15-9.
Alcorn Central better focus on containing Chloe Clement and Dallyn Haupt as the pair were huge in Kossuth's win. Clement had 12 digs and two aces, while Haupt had 32 kills and three blocks. Haupt has been hot for a while, having posted seven or more kills the last 33 times she's played.
Kossuth was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 29 consecutive contests.
Alcorn Central's record is now 23-14-1. As for Kossuth, their record now sits at 28-4-2.
