After a string of three wins, the Canton Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northeast Bradford. While losing is never fun, Canton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Northeast Bradford is ranked 107th).
Canton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Talin Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, and Ben Fitch who scored 16 points. The contest was Fitch's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Canton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3. As for Northeast Bradford, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will be home for the holidays to greet Sullivan County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northeast Bradford will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Penn-Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
