Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brentwood). They enjoyed a cozy 81-67 win over the Gatewood Gators on Thursday. Given the War Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Gators are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brentwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristan Robinson out in front who posted 24 points. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. Jaelen Johnson was another key player, putting up 23 points.

Despite the loss, Gatewood still got an impressive performance from Matt Allen, who went 15 of 27 on his way to 43 points and three steals. That was a full 64.2% of Gatewood's points, marking the 13th time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Moreno, who had eight points.

Brentwood pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Gatewood, they moved to 11-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Brentwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-40 victory against Thomas Jefferson Academy on the 11th. As for Gatewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-66 win against Augusta Prep Day on the 11th.
