The Dawson Bulldogs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past Riesel with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. That's another feather in the cap for Dawson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Hastin Easley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Elijah Allen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Riesel's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Hickerson, who scored nine points.
Dawson has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Riesel, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Dawson will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlin will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Riesel will take on the Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
