The Chickasaw Chieftains entered their tilt with the Robertsdale Golden Bears with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Chickasaw managed a 55-51 victory over Robertsdale on Thursday. For Chickasaw, this counts as revenge for the 61-59 defeat Robertsdale walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2019.
Chickasaw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JaMarion Osborne led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Osborne is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydrus Gilmore, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Robertsdale still got an impressive performance from Gabe Stevens, who scored 28 points. The game was Stevens' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson R lyles was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Chickasaw is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Robertsdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Chickasaw won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McIntosh at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. McIntosh is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Robertsdale, they will square off against Chickasaw at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Chickasaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
