The Youngsville Eagles will challenge the North Clarion Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Youngsville will be strutting in after a victory while North Clarion will be coming in after a loss.
While Youngsville's win against Iroquois wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Braves 3-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

David Manning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Youngsville is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. Youngsville is 2-1 when Johnson posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. Braydon Baker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, North Clarion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, falling 18-3. On the bright side, the three- run effort marked the Wolves' highest-scoring match to date.
North Clarion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Pappas, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Pappas has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played.
Youngsville's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for North Clarion, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
North Clarion's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Youngsville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for North Clarion, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Youngsville keep running through batters, or will the Wolves buck the trend?
