The Rochester Rockets are taking a road trip to take on the Mt. Zion Braves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rochester will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Tuesday, Rochester got the win against MacArthur by a conclusive 18-3. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Eli Carlson and Breck Calvert were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Carlson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Calvert pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Carlson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Carlson went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Calvert got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Calvert has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Rochester let Jorey Myren and Ajay Runkel run wild. Myren went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Runkel went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Sean Plessa was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion was able to grind out a solid victory over Tolono Unity on Tuesday, taking the game 9-6. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Rochester's record now sits at 17-7. As for Mt. Zion, their record is now 15-5.
Rochester skirted past Mt. Zion 6-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
