The Ansonia Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Mississinawa Valley as Ansonia made off with a 64-43 victory. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Ansonia as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Mississinawa Valley saw an underclassman step up: Cing Scott scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Scott also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Bryson Gower was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Ansonia's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Mississinawa Valley, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansonia on the road again on Tuesday and play against Minster at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Minster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ansonia in Ohio (Minster is ranked 269th, while Ansonia is ranked 718th). As for Mississinawa Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
