South Fork has been on the road for seven straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Point Arena Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, South Fork ended up a good deal behind Ukiah and lost 66-50.
Meanwhile, Point Arena pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clear Lake. Point Arena has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dauki Bechtol, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. He scored a full 31.6% of Point Arena's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The losses dropped South Fork to 6-2 and Ukiah to 8-2.
Everything came up roses for South Fork against Point Arena in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 60-24 win. Will South Fork repeat their success, or does Point Arena have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
