Hannah Shinn and Reece Cornine were among the main playmakers for Plaza Heights Christian Academy as the former scored 19 points along with five steals and the latter scored eight points along with six steals. Shinn hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Ava Collier was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lutheran's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. Their tough 53-27 defeat to Heritage Christian Academy might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 355th in Missouri, while Heritage Christian Academy is ranked 90th in Kansas).
Plaza Heights Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
