The Liberty Indians will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Port Jervis Raiders at 5:00 p.m.
After soaring to 74 points the game before, Liberty were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 84-24 loss at the hands of Ellenville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Ellenville: they've now lost seven in a row.
Port Jervis can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past Beacon 50-47. That looming 50-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Port Jervis yet this season.
Port Jervis' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaiah Boucher, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals, and Carroll Dolshun, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Boucher has scored at least 25% of Port Jervis' points.
Liberty now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Port Jervis, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Liberty might still be hurting after the 70-44 defeat they got from Port Jervis in their previous meeting back in January. Can Liberty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
