The Forsyth Home Educators Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Wake County HomeSchool Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Forsyth Home Educators' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Wake County HomeSchool's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Forsyth Home Educators will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Ambassador Christian School on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-4 win. Considering the Hawks have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Forsyth Home Educators got a great performance from Clarke Stem as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Stem has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ashton Hooker and Colten Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Hooker went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Brown went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Hooker has posted since back in March. Patrick Triolo was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Forsyth Home Educators kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ambassador Christian School only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Wake County HomeSchool has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.96 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They fell 10-7 to Cleveland.
Landen Smith and Austin Clark did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Clark got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Richardson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Forsyth Home Educators' record is now 13-5-1. As for Wake County HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Forsyth Home Educators has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Wake County HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Forsyth Home Educators was able to grind out a solid victory over Wake County HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 13-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
