That's the most strikeouts she has posted since March 3rd. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Pontotoc was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Itawamba Agricultural got the win against Amory on Thursday by a conclusive 13-0. Considering the Indians have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Pontotoc, Itawamba Agricultural also got a great game from a two-way player: Layla Owens. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Owens has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Itawamba Agricultural let Alden Kline and Skylar Partlow run wild. Kline scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Partlow scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Partlow has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kooper Reese was another key player, scoring a run.
Pontotoc pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Itawamba Agricultural, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pontotoc hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Itawamba Agricultural struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pontotoc beat Itawamba Agricultural 9-5 when the teams last played on Saturday. Does Pontotoc have another victory up their sleeve, or will Itawamba Agricultural turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
